Quick response to the Eurozone crisis

President Susilo Bambang Yu-dhoyono is mulling a swift response to what he referred to as the “frightening” eurozone crisis, to ensure that the rapidly growing economy of Indonesia is stable in the middle montages of external shocks.

The impact of the escalating debt crisis in the region or some of the richest nations of the world are, and to which many emerging economies sending their products, has severely impacted the financial markets of Indonesia and began to affect the business of the country. The rupiah has suffered its worst monthly loss since 2009 in November, falling 3.5% to Rp 9,170 against the U.S. dollar, while foreign investors reduced holdings of Indonesian government bonds by Rp 5 trillion to turn to safe haven instruments like the US dollar.
