Fuel Prices Linked To Rising Real Estate Prices

Real Estate Indonesia’s says property prices have already increased by 15% since early March on the back of the government’s announcement of rising fuel prices.

Many property owners have withdrawn their properties for sale due to the continuing discourse on rising costs related to the fuel prices. Bali currently has the highest rate of land price
increases in Indonesia, with recent studies showing the price of land in Bali increasing by an average 34% in 2011, while normal growth in other regions was around 8-16%. Many businessmen
cancelled the sale of their properties because the prices would again increase when the fuel price is hiked. Fuel prices will also increase the price of building materials, transportation and
labour costs.
